Spirit possession seems to be the latest craze. Well, I reach this conclusion based on the marked increase of people coming to me saying that they believe that they are possessed or being tormented by spirits or have been told that they are by other psychics.
You'd be forgiven for thinking that Hasbro did the right thing by taking their new Ouija board off the market. But all of my clients have put hand on heart to assure me that they haven't gone anywhere near a Ouija board.
But it's not just people claiming spirit possession. I have also noticed more and more people coming to me who believe that their psychic has done more than just 'read' for them. They tell me that the psychic they consulted began to 'steal' their energy or in some way energetically manipulate them into doing things they wouldn't normally do.
Well, I have to admit that all this is possible. Spirits are real and they are out there. Indeed, they can be attracted to the energy fields surrounding the living. In most instances, however, they are attracted to people in situations that remind them of what it was like when the spirits walked on the earthly plane.
This most frequently occurs in those who have very weakened energetic states and have very low self-esteem. People with extremely serious substance abuse issues can fall in this category. But this is, in my experience, very rare. To be sure, in my thirty years of doing this kind of work, I can count on one hand the number of times I have encountered spirit attachment rising to the level of possession.
It's equally rare for any of us to find ourselves in such a low and unprotected space to allow even the most skilled energetic practitioner to control us and to bend our will to do something that we don't want to do. It's simply not an everyday occurrence.
I'm not sure why but I seem to be observing some kind of hysteria when it comes to spirit possession and what I'll call malevolent energetic tampering. Perhaps we can blame the likes of Google and their so-called cancer effect. This is something that you yourself have no doubt noticed. No matter what medical symptom you enter into the search engine, cancer will appear as the conclusive diagnosis.
Just as medical doctors don't immediately test for cancer, it's my belief we psychics and intuitives shouldn't immediately look for indicators of possession or energetic tampering. In 999 cases out of 1000, the real source of the problem lies in something much more mundane that is taking place in the client's life.
If you are struggling in life or find yourself in a difficult position, please don't panic and assume that it's down to spirit possession. Nor will it be the result of someone else trying to interfere with your energy to your detriment. Believing so only lowers your energy and belief in your own empowerment. Instead, adopt a much more practical approach to see if you cannot explain what's going on. In other words, approach your problem from the 'common sense' angle - think about your situation calmly, analyse when a particular set of circumstances arose, reflect on what's happening around you, and try not to jump to Hollywood-style conclusions. The most dramatic and sensationalist possibility is rarely the correct answer.
